DOCUMENTS: Gratian Family DeedsThe Gratian family owned Hutfall Field in Belper, and other lands. The full extent of Hutfall Field is not yet known, but on the East/West axis it stretched from at least Chesterfield Road (and most probably beyond it) down to at least Bridge Street and possibly beyond. On the North/South axis it was from at least Mill Street to at least Field Lane, and possibly beyond. Parcels of land were divided off from Hutfall from a very early date, although most of them were inherited by members of the extended family of the Gratians and those who married into the family. The results of research into the Gratian land can be seen in the corresponding pages that link to these deeds. (Research not yet carried out has no corresponding link.)
